Goals are configurable places in your bot where you'd like to note that the user has completed a task which you'd like to record for analytics purposes OR trigger a next action based on.
You may want to set a bot goal when:
- Lead-generation use-case - Visitor gives you their email address
- Customer-Service use-case - Visitor indicates they are very unhappy and want a human to follow up
- Visitor books a meeting with you via the schedule-a-meeting node
What you can do with goals:
- Trigger an action through an Email Alert, Zapier, Salesforce & Oracle Eloqua etc
- Easily sort conversations and filter analytics
To add a goal:
1. Open the bot editor, find the node that is a significant event in your bot, click it so that the node editor opens in the side panel
2. Scroll to the bottom, open the Additional Options
3. In the dropdown menu, select the goal you'd like to use for this node
Or, if your goal hasn't been created yet, create a new goal
4. After clicking Update Node, you'll see now that your node has now been marked with a goal
